Gatway Resources was conceived in December 1988 under the name Life Enterprises and was incorporated November 1, 1990 in Newport, Rhode Island as a charitable organization [501 c 3 (a) 2] that is a prophetic and evangelical ministry supporting the mission of the Episcopal Church to enable people to experience God as revealed in the Gospels. By charter the majority of council (board) members are Episcopalian. It has included persons from non-Christian traditions from its beginning.

Gateway Resources is itself non-sectarian in its services and is not controlled by the Episcopal Church. It is a pentecostal parachurch phenomenon that is a product of the worldwise outpouring of the Holy Spirit that is happening on the planet at the end of the Second Millenium. It is an effort of the Spirit to find additional ways to reach people with the experience of the Creator and the empowered Life that the Gospels of the New Testament promise all people and creatures, regardless of race, creed, color or numbers of legs.

Gateway Resources intends to embody the essential Spirit and Soul of Anglicanism in a cathedral without walls for the sheer Grace it can bestow upon the planet. Its protestantism fuses the freedom and soverignty of God and the human soul of 'Salvation' or healing as a free gift accessed by Trust (i.e., faith) and open to all human and sentient beings and indeed the whole Creation the Cosmos. Its catholicism draws from the Benedictine and Cistercian monastic traditions with their non-heirarchical lay origins and sacramental, Christ-infused experience of Nature.

Gateway Resources follows the path of via media and incorparates not only tradition but also emergent understandings and maps for the structure of Reality. It focusses on the "Kingdom of God," or "Kingdom of Heaven," or "Gloryland," as the metaverse existing within our present experience and possibility. It concerns itself with what the late Rev. Dr. Charles P. Price calls "realised eschatology" and "practical theology" what Dr. Jean Houston calls "sacred psychology"and what the originator the Rev. Dr. Linda Carol Strahan calls "functional theology."

Gateway Resources reflects 'cathedral spirituality,' meaning the broad scope of inclusion of all religious traditions in their quest for the meaning of life and the transcendent order of things and God as well as commitment to the new synthesis of human knowledges that is emerging as faith and science, right and left brains, heaven and earth reconverge in our lives.

Gateway Resources intends the healing and empowerment of the planet by evoking the New Creation by, through, and in the spell of Christ's Spirit.
